5.29 The Department of Transport

1. The department should district wise enlist all the Trucks, JCBs, Hitachis, Hitachi with a chain belt and Vehicle-mounted Generators, information on the current currently available of these machines and the information of their owners to the EOC.

2. At the district level, the department should approach the owners of the JCB, Hitachi, Hitachi with a chain belt, and big trucks and negotiate with them so that they are readily available in case of an emergency.

3. A list of ambulances operating in each district should be made including their contact details. Proper negotiations should be made with them so that their service can be used in case of an emergency.

4. The availability of all the above vehicles is to be ensured if demanded by the district EOC.
