5.28 The Department of Information and Communication
1. A meeting with the press, visual, auditory, and online media should be arranged in coordination with the Disaster Management in the month of June. During this meeting, the media should be briefed about the periodic monsoon review and the various means to make proper and effective communication between government agencies and the media during an emergency.
2. To ensure that the early warnings and notices provided by the State / District Disaster management Authority are published various websites of state government, district administration, and the local self-government. The social media sites of these agencies including that of the state governments and the respective district collects should also be made available for the same.
3. Appoint an officer to the state EOC who is equivalent or higher than the rank of an information officer from 9 am to 6 pm. this official shall be charged with compiling various information available from all the districts regarding the disaster and making it available to the media 3 times a day. This official shall be responsible for interacting with the media for the State EOC.
