5.27 Department of Women and Child Welfare
1. Ensure that children and women are not subject to 'human trafficking' in the outbreak of a disaster.
2. Ensure that there is no violence against boys and girls in the relief camps.
3. Separate care and preference should be given to children with disabilities.
4. Awareness classes and counselling classes should be conducted at the camp.
5. Ensure that children are provided with adequate nutrition in the camps. Milk, egg, and milk powder should be made available to the children in the camp.
6. Ensure enough facilities and privacy for breastfeeding mothers residing in the camp.
7. Ensure the safety of girls in the camp. The personal hygiene products such as sanitary pad and tissue paper shall be made available for them.
8. Raise awareness among the parents not to take their children with them when they go home for the first time since a disaster. Disaster at home can cause mental distress in children
