1.1.2 South Asian Seasonal Climate Outlook Forum (SASCOF-16)

The regional climate forecast was collaboratively developed by the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) of South Asian countries with support from international experts at the sixteenth session of the South Asian Seasonal Climate Outlook Forum (SASCOF-16) was held during 20-22 April 2020 via video conferencing due to the current extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to South Asian Seasonal Climate Outlook, normal rainfall is most likely during the 2020 southwest monsoon. However, geographically above normal rainfall is most likely over the country including Kerala. The monsoon forecast by SASCOF can be seen here.
