4.5 Inter-Agency Group

1. The District Disaster Management Authority can use the inter-agency groups, in pre-disaster and post-disaster activities which is the group of volunteer organizations in a district that actively participated in disaster management – mitigation activities.

2. District Disaster Management Authority can use the Inter-Agency Group in the pre-disaster phase for the disaster preparedness -mitigation activities and social awareness programmers.

3. The District administration can use the Inter-Agency Group in disaster response for the coordination of the functions of various voluntary organizations. In this way, disaster prevention work can ease the misuse of resources and ensure efficient and equitable distribution of resources.

4. The District administration can use the Inter-Agency Group for the coordination and providing the necessary volunteer service in relief camps and other shelter homes.

5. The District administration can use the Inter-Agency Group members for the post-disaster health, cleaning, activities.

6. Collect the data of resources (Human resources, instruments, etc.) which is available at the members of the inter-agency group and

7. Since Inter-Agency Group is the coordination of various voluntary organizations, it should not be used as an opportunity to perform organization individually.

8. In the District level, District disaster management authority can expand the Inter-Agency Group by considering the variation in their works.
