4.3 Use of the Apda Mithra Volunteer Force in Kottayam District
1. A team of 200 trained Apata Mitra volunteers is available in Kottayam district. They have been provided with flood disaster response training and rescue equipment
2. The Apda mithra volunteers, who have trained in rescue activities can be used under the supervision of the official force.
3. The volunteers can be used in coordination, camps, health care, and hygiene and evacuation activities also.
4. A meeting of the Kottayam Collector is to be held before 30-5-2020 and the fire department of the district is advised to ensure that the use of the Apata Mitra by the local fire station locally.
5. It is advisable for members of the Apata Mitra Volunteer Force to purchase medical insurance and life insurance individually.
6. The vehicle used for their journey, the food, water during their disaster, and medical treatment if they are injured during a disaster response can be taken in the account of 2245-02-101-94-Flood-Other as per GO (Ms) No. 194/2015/DMD dated 20-05-2015, item 2 – Search and Rescue Operations
4.4 Use of Sannadham Volunteers
1. Collect the volunteer’s list from Sannadham directorate. Make this data available for local bodies, police, and fire force.
2. Conduct the sannadham volunteer,s meeting in LSG level before 30th May 2020 in all districts
3. The Sannadham volunteers can meet the expense of transportation, food during this time, treatment during the disaster, etc. when they participated in the notified disaster response time as per the GO (Ms) No. 194/2015/DMD dated 20-05-2015, item 2 – Search and Rescue Operations
4. They can involve in coordination, camp, health hygiene, and evacuation programmes.
